I am a long time Nikon film and D850 DSLR /Rolleiflex film shooter.

Looking to get into MF digital with the GFXs (vs hasslblads)

I consider Fuji at the top of all cameras producing excellent skin tones.

Are they as good with the GFX line as I’ve seen with the rest of their cameras…?

Looking for opinions and experiences. Portrait - people work, commercial - studio and outdoors work. Fashion…

The GFX line is really quite phenomenal.
I am a Fuji X user but was invited to attend some workshops with the GFX, brought along my own SD card and shot some pix and was blown away.
Above my pay station, but certainly excellent, especially for what you're asking about (studio / portraiture)

I've been using the GFX 50R for just over two years now. The color is very nice. I usually shoot with ProNeg STD because it's the most natural looking color. Most of the time I process in Capture One which will use the chosen film sim as a starting point. None of the other in camera adjustments come through with the raw file. They're only applied to the jpeg. I can change the base film sim and use ProNeg High and Classic Chrome a lot. I hardly ever touch the others. I find I can make a lot of adjustments if I want or need to without the image falling apart. It maintains nice smooth tonal gradations that look really nice, especially if you're controlling the light.

Most of the photos I've posted for the past two years are from the 50R (except for the current Single in Nov. challenge). https://cameraderie.org/members/fredlong.16397/thattachplus-attachments/

Thanks. I use CaptureOne (sessions), shoot raw files and also round trip with PhotoShop for edits. Tether with CaptureOne. Seems like a GFX would be worth it.
