My copy seems to be a bit glowy at the long end wide open. Stopping it down to f/5.6 resolves the issue. However, it's really sharp at all apertures and focal lengths from 18 to 40mm.

I kid you not, it's December 26th in Kiev and we have roses blooming in flower beds throughout the city. It's really unheard of at this latitude.

Finally, some snow, and just in time for our holiday week!

These old 2-story houses were built by German POWs after the WWII. They are very picturesque and it's a shame that the whole district is being slowly demolished to give way to new construction.

For Easter, we packed up a lot of food and a grill, and biked with some friends to Castle Island, a big stone fort reachable by bike from South Boston. It was only 40-something all day, so we needed a place that had sunlight and shelter from the winds, and this old fort fit the bill perfectly.

I wanted to bring the Minolta and finish a roll of TMAX, which didn't leave much room for Fuji stuff. So I limited myself to the kit zoom. And to be honest, I was underwhelmed, which is strange, because I keep going back and forth on this lens. Sometimes I use it and think "man that was convenient." Yesterday I used it and thought

"This isn't wide enough"
or
"This isn't long enough"
or
"This looks really glowy and washed out"

...to the point that I wished I'd just used the rokinon 12, or the XF 23. Oh well. I just wasn't feeling the kit zoom that day, I guess. But I got a few I liked well enough.
