Canon G1X II Experiences 1.5 Seconds Camera Pause after Shutter Pressed Half-Way

The latest dpreview 5/7/14 in-depth review of the G1X II states several times that "Whole camera pauses for about 1.5 seconds after the shutter release is halfway-pressed".

Anybody owning the G1X II experience this? Under what conditions?

I own the G1X Mark I, and my normal pause as above is only about .75 seconds.

Any comments would be appreciated.

I can live with all the negatives of the G1X II except possibly for the 1.5 second delay as above.

Does is happen only under certain settings? The report does not say so.

Many thanks.

POSSIBLE EXPLANATION OF 1.5 SEC PAUSE?

Perhaps the 1.5 second camera pause only happens when working with the "inner lens dial", when it is rarely unresponsive?

As I looked back in the in-depth G1X Mark II Report to the places where the 1.5 second pause is mentioned, it is where the rare "inner lens dial" unresponsiveness is mentioned.

The pause ceases as soon as the shutter button is half (or fully) depressed so it doesn't slow things down particularly.
