I have noticed today that on CEX the OM-1 has fallen under 1.000 £ used, at this price I would consider it a very good value for wildlife and macro enthusiasts (but not as good value for other genres, you can get better IQ and/or smaller/cheaper alternatives instead).A spiffy near new OM-1 with a NIB 12-45 F4 Pro lens.
Just had to try another "Oly".

So far, my initial testing has shown this OM-1 to be superior to any other µ43 camera I've owned for MY needs.I have noticed today that on CEX the OM-1 has fallen under 1.000 £ used, at this price I would consider it a very good value for wildlife and macro enthusiasts (but not as good value for other genres, you can get better IQ and/or smaller/cheaper alternatives instead).
I have managed to not spend a penny this month wage cycle .... Quite the achievement
This one is a bit more interesting, we bought this Kodak V705 camera sometime in the mid 2000s to replace the old Canon S10 that we gave my sister in law. It was used for a little while until the battery failed and at the time, replacing the battery was as expensive as getting a new Panasonic FZ10K I am going to say, so it just sat with other discarded equipment. I found it when looking for some negatives I was looking to scan and figured out that I can get replacement batteries rather more affordably now, so ordered a new one from Kastar. Spent some time trying to pry the old battery out (swollen, of course).
Will see how it goes when the battery arrives. It does have a CCD sensor and being a Kodak brand, I am guessing it might actually be the "attractive" Kodak CCD sensor. We will see how it goes when the new battery arrives.

Ovi, I am amazed at all the turns in equipment you have made just in a year. When I was making a lot of money, I was kind of like you and packages would arrive daily with new cameras, lenses, and accessories. At one time, I had tried almost every brand even though Nikon was my mainstay. I had this urge for several years and then I realized that I would never have everything I desired I stayed with Nikon but did not sell the other and it still lies in my cupboard in nice shape but unused for years. I still have a Nikon D2X, a Fujifilm XT2 with 4 lenses for the Fuji, and 3 for the Nikon and I have settled into Olympus with OM-1 and EM-1X with too many lenses. I am not worried about the minutia of each pixel for IQ and I love the Olympus System and will concentrate on this system for the rest of my natural life which is getting shorter each day.I have noticed today that on CEX the OM-1 has fallen under 1.000 £ used, at this price I would consider it a very good value for wildlife and macro enthusiasts (but not as good value for other genres, you can get better IQ and/or smaller/cheaper alternatives instead).

Cool! I just upgraded from a Series 7 myself. Its battery was ok enough still, but the glass was getting scratchy. I'm probably keeping the old one as a spare (to be worn when the new one is charging ).While not camera related, I did just pre-order the new Apple Watch Series 10. Got the biggun’ - 46mm Black Aluminum.
I use the snot out of my Series 6. I track my exercise, use it for silent notifications and responses when it is not appropriate to grab the phone.
I would keep using the Series 6, but I’ve had it for 4 years now and the battery won’t charge past 75%.
I could have requested a battery replacement, but thought 4 years is a pretty good run on a nearly daily driver watch. They are also taking it in trade for the same price as a new battery, so there you go.
Should be here the end of October sometime.

Why the long wait, though? Mine already arrived on Friday.
I had a silver one years ago, I do like them and one can certainly justify owning one and the Lumix 14mm F2.5.Looking forward to getting out in the city with this...

I think a bulk roll of Fomapan 100 sounds like a great time - as long as it has no manufacturing inconsistencies, which seem to crop up now and then. I had a bulk roll of Foma 200 and enjoyed it, but 100 is probably my favorite B&W film. Its look is so classic and it is chef's kiss with Rodinal. My latest acquisitions.
Mamiya NC1000s and Canon EOS 100, both untested, but I now have a bulk roll of Fomapan 100, so I'll soon find out

I've been pondering Topcor lenses for the rangefinder - they do seem very nice.View attachment 498226
Topcon RE Auto Topcor 5.8cm 1.8, the 1.4 have gotten too expensive () for a lens I already have alternatives to, but from what I read, the 1.8 is maybe a touch sharper even, so no slouch so when a cheaper one popped off, I had to dust that Exakta (*) adapter I have and use it.
It's a very pretty lens and shooting with it seems pleasant, but I did not look at the results yet, so this is still to come
(*) I read that the 1.4 was so good that Cosina/Voigtlander licensed the design and that's what their 58mm 1.4 for Nikon F mount is
(**) I always find Exakta lenses harder to mount, maybe that's why there are sometimes better deals for old lens in this mount
