Took a walk in the rain at Hudson Crossing Park, Schuylerville, NY, near Lock 5 of the Champlain Canal.

We think this is a weather station:

We found holes dug in the ground with what we believe are the remains of turtle eggs nearby. We what we don't know is if the eggs hatched, or a predator got them.

Osprey looks like she might be huddled over something -- her chicks?

The path wasn't very inviting:

But I found this scene evocative:

I caught this swift doing acrobatics in the mist:

When we got back to the car, the M1 was soaked, but I dried it with a microfiber cloth, and all seems to be well.

Nice work, Jock. Good to know that E-M1 is still up to the task.
The thing I got paranoid about was water getting into the zoom lens where it extends and retracts. So I worked it in and out, and each time, I saw that there was a trace of moisture, I wiped it off until no more moisture appeared. I just fired up the M1 this AM, and it appears to be fine.

Also, I reached out to the National Weather Service, and that is, indeed, a weather station, part of their Mesonet -- NYS Mesonet

Cheers, Jock
