How do you like your Heliar? I had the same optics in Voigtlander's collector polished metal garb briefly with my Bessa T, but sold it to get a 35mm f2.5 Skopar. They certainly are cool fifties, even if the max aperture makes them a tad less versatile.
It's fantastic. I get a certain medium format feeling to my shots with this lens. The extreme sharpness plus focus transitions make the effect probably.

This heliar and the f/1.5 Nokton would pair up well to cover all light levels around the year.

From your experience: How much sharper/contrastier is the Heliar than the Nokton stopped down? I can say that the f/1.2 Nokton gets very contrasty stopped down (it's already contrastier than the f/1.5 wide open), but shows a slight loss of sharpness in the periphery - the Nokton f/1.5 is definitely very sharp stopped down, but with slightly less contrast. Where does the Heliar sit? I also wonder: Have you ever shot with a Summicron-M 50mm f/2 (the "normal" one, not the APO)?

I would say, very much sharper and contrastier. Yes, Nokton gets decent after f/2.8 and it could well serve as my only 50 for that matter but the Heliar, the lens of few elements has the magic at every aperture.

Truth be told, I never thought the Nokton as any kind of a sharp shooter and as such haven't shot anything that I wanted clinically sharp. (Not to say the results wouldn't be sharp, they just aren't sharp as normal people consider a lens to be.) So it's difficult to say.

Haven't had the pleasure. As an off remark I think I would probably prefer the Summicron-M over the current Summilux-M ASPH in overall rendering.

Eight Minolta Chiyoko Leica mount lenses from the 1940s and 1950s. The little 3.5cm F3.5 is very rare, all of the lenses are uncommon- especially outside of Japan. Thet are all good. This closes off the collection. The rear lens cap of the 3.5cm lens is unique- I've never seen another translucent rear cap for Leica. This Minolta 3.5cm F3.5 lens is from ~1957, is double-coated. I thought Pentax was the first to multicoat lenses in the 1960s. This lens is multicoated. Minolta called it "Achromatic Coating".
