Gig photography with NEX 5 and Pentagon 50mm f1.8 manual lens

Discussion in 'Sony' started by Ghosthunter, May 1, 2011.

  1. This is a friends band who played The Peel in Kingston last night. I thought I would take some snaps and took my Sony NEX 5 and Pentacon 50mm f1.8 manual focus lens as it is the only f1.8 lens I have. Focusing at f1.8 on moving targets was almost impossible but i managed to get a few reasonable shots.

Andy, you did really well with your manual focus - I particularly like the color versions.

  5. Thanks. It was really hard to get a decent shot. 1/3oth was as fast as I could get for shutter speed so on a 50mm crop lens almost impossible. I did have to bin loads of shots but that's the name of the game with gig photography I guess. I did enjoy it though and would love to do more.
