Street Gothenburg 400 year and the King 50 years on throne

Today was a big day, this weekend (and holiday, 6th of June is swedish national day), my home town celebrates 400 years! And also, we got a visit from royal family also, the King and Queen came. There was a cortege through town which ended up on a square where they had a nice speach about the towns history. Really awesome! I have actually never seen the royal couple this close up, not close at all. But this time I grabbed the best cortege spot and shot with the Nikkor Z DX 18-140 and then I followed them to the square where I changed to the 50-250. Got some good shots I think. Really fun this, it was a big moment.

In 2023, Carl XVI Gustaf celebrates 50 years on the throne and is thus Sweden’s longest-reigning monarch of all time. This is highlighted through the photo exhibition Carl XVI Gustaf – 50 years for Sweden, which is on Gustaf Adolfs torg until midsummer. On June 4, the King and Queen visits Gothenburg.
