Also GRIIIx v.1.30.

Maybe a small update but with some good quality of life enhancements. The long press of video/wireless button has been opened up to the full range of Fn options it would seem, so that is nice. I have it set to turn on wifi right now, but since the same can be accomplished in playback by long-pressing the playback button, it's not super necessary. My regular press Fn feature for the video/wireless button is to bring up the change snap focus distance feature, so maybe I can make long-press into another snap focus related function.

I agree, I don't know that there has been any camera in current production to receive as many substantive firmware upgrades in the same amount of time. Fuji got a lot of accolades years ago for their kaizen update methodology, but that has largely faded in frequency as their product line has gotten more mature, while here Ricoh is quietly improving their camera year after year with little to no fanfare. Every one of these updates costs money and takes time to develop, yet they don't directly bring in any new sales - if you've bought the camera, Ricoh's making these updates for you.

I really have update the GRiiix. I think I'm still using what it came with. 😱

Apart from what happened with 1.80, every update has really been worth it - and I consider the last slip-up a fluke; Ricoh/Pentax has an excellent track record in this regard.

However, 1.80 could have been kind of a desaster for people who like adjusting their settings often ... or new buyers; thankfully, word went out quickly. 1.81 fixes these memory issues and adds a couple of other enhancements and fixes - pretty impressive, good work overall, in spite of everything.
