Happy Chinese New Year!

It is the year of the snake, to be more precise, the Black Water Snake. Here are some shots from the wife's family temple.

The snake is not your scary "going to bite and kill you" kind of snake, but a friendly one with candy and money:

Even the dog has a new outfit for the occasion:

And the best way to travel on the island during the holiday, High Speed Rail:

Thanks you two.

For me it is extremely difficult to get colors right when the image is flooded with them, regardless of the camera I am using. I think in the temple you have the mixed strong overhead light that is probably a blue/purple cast, and it is reflected and bounced off all the gold items resulting in a very strange color light.

I could always take my portable light chart and shoot that into a few frames for color and W/B correction, um come to think of that...why haven't I done that yet?

Happy Year of the Snake everyone, may you have a good asp time.

Thanks, for the great selection of photos, many have really great colors. And happy Chinese new year as well! We had a little bit of moon cake to celebrate, and my wife's pleased because this is technically her year, being born in the year of the snake herself.
