Mine did on my E-M1 MkII screen several months ago. Oi.Share would not connect to my E-M1 MkII, nor could it see it.
I thought "Bugger. A trip to Olympus Oz to fix."
However, when I was reading the f******* manual this morning (gasp!!), it informed me that if this icon is not showing, you can connect to your smartphone (or tablet, in my case) by going to:
the PLAYBACK MENU
,
SPANNER,
CONNECT TO SMARTPHONE,
then press OK.
PAIR with device via the QR code or manually (if your device has 'forgotten' your camera).
AND the WiFi icon has reappeared on the screen of my E-M1 MkII ...
Uploading 797 JPEG images took about 24 minutes and about 20% of the battery.
Probably a lot quicker and easier just to use my USB3 card reader and OTG cable. However, Oi.Share also resizes the files on upload, so that's a bit useful.
BTW, the WiFi icon vanished back when OMDS updated the Android app.
