Leica Hibiscus Flower and Shadows with Leica Q

For some odd reason, I decided on black & white for this Hibiscus flower, mainly I suppose because of the shadows the flower cast on itself.

Leica Q, f5.6, 1/50 handheld, ISO 200.

The shadow areas show quantization effects- more than I get when exporting DNG to JPEG. I'm not sure why.

Is this in camera monochrome?

Yes, and cropped too much, overprocessed etc. Hopefully I can get better samples next few days. It's been 95f every day for a fortnight now - my biggest challenge is keeping sweat out of the camera...
