Feedback How to delete multiple posts at once?

I'm trying to delete several of my posts at once. How do I do that?

The only way I could figure out to delete posts is one-at-a- time by:
Clicking on my username->Your content->click on one post in the list->go to single post->hit "delete"->wait for pop-up to enter reason-> hit "delete" again.

I'm looking for a way to select several posts for deletion and then hit "delete" once and the selected ones all get deleted at once.

TIA

Sorry for not responding earlier - I was hoping for @Kevin to pick up on this.

The issue is that as far as I am aware, not even moderators have the ability to pick posts from a list and bulk delete (we can pick out several posts by going to each post individually and mark it for moderation, then delete the lot - but that's no real time saver if the posts are in different threads). That's why I doubt it that anyone except the admin can actually do this.

So, short version: It's probably best to go ahead and delete them one at a time. You can also wait for Kevin to respond.

Saw I got pinged..... 🙂

Correct, bulk delete features really isn't exposed as a screen element that most users have access to. I thought @MoonMind had access as a moderator but that's something I'll need to check as a follow-up item.

You can either delete them individually or if there is a pressing need, let me know I can do it as a bulk action under the 'admin' account.

Is there a time limit whereby posted cannot be deleted?

If there isn't, should there be?
I think anyone can post something prematurely and immediately want to delete it again (I know it has happened to me).

Furthermore, double posting happens, if only for connectivity issues.

So, I'm pretty much against a minimal "persistence" time. But I'm not sure I got your meaning ...

Hhhmmm...... 🤔

No, it's never really been an issue before of somebody wanting to bulk delete their own stuff. Usually if somebody is really mad at us (collectively "us" as a community) they just ask that their account be deleted which leaves the content out there but as a guest account.

If there isn't, should there be?
Maybe. As Matt mentioned, there needs to be some allowance for stuff like accidental double-posts and typo fixes, etc. but there should likely be a cutoff limit of some amount of time.

FWIW as an example, when Brand X was sold the new owner's Terms of Service were unacceptable to me so I asked that my content be deleted. I think that others may have also done so.
We've had a few requests also for a true "purge me from this site" and of course we've honored their request. It's not like anything here is monetized so folks purging their activity spites other members more than anything else. ☹️

That's why I personally think that something like a complete removal of all images should stay coupled to an account removal, to be honest. I'm also not asking for the job of cleansing pages and pages on some list or other. And neither is anyone, I'm certain.

You may regret some posts or you may discover flawed posts or images at some point in time. Removing them is in order, perhaps even a good idea.

But if you're going to remove everything, there's bound to be major disruptions - at the worst, whole threads disappear. If you're doing that, you might as well pack up and go because you'll wish you had in short order ...

It's a fine line.

While I understand the desire to purge your content due to a change in Terms and Conditions, I've seen situations on other (non-photographic) sites where someone got a bee in their bonnet and deleted all their content which, as you say left a rather large vacuum.

Thanks for the discussion.

I've done them one-at-a-time but due to server sluggishness it sometime takes two minutes to delete a single post. Other times it takes longer because the server just stops responding: the orange horizontal bar moves across the top of the page a few times and then just stops with no action taken. That's why I asked about bulk delete.
