How's weather at your place?

After all my moaning about five days of constant mist and drizzle, I woke up this morning to blazing sunshine and blue skies.
After gulping down a cup of tea, we dashed to the beach for our customary festive stroll.

Well it's nearly 10pm and am about to head off for NYE activities. Except; I'm thinking of swerving it. It's not so much the cold as the wind, I dunno how these fireworks displays are supposed to be going off, if they do I'm fearing they may go in any and every direction, it's that bad right now.

Well I hope everyone in the UK, at least down south, managed to get out at some point today given it's been amazingly (for January) cloudless and aggressively sunny. There's a bloke on another forum I'm on who always signs off each post by saying "wishing you good light" well today has been that day. Doesn't matter if it's cold, eh.

Escaped the US Midwest last week just before several inches of snow hit our area. Drove southwest, and after a few days of skiing in cold but beautiful sunny weather in Colorado, I'm now working in Phoenix Arizona for the rest of the month. (Then back to CO for more skiing before returning home). Arrived in Phoenix yesterday afternoon and it's a lovely 70F/21C here, without a cloud in the sky. Feels amazing after a couple months of barely seeing the sun during a Midwest late-fall/early-winter defined by steel-grey skies and damp coldness.

37°C+ yesterday, and this dickhead went and cleaned up some of the stuff around our kiln shed, as the 8 cu.ft. gas kiln went to a new home the day before. Big mistake! It took me about 4 hours to recover.

It's apparently going to hit that again today, with a late change coming through, thank goodness.

I'm going to lie very low today. Maybe do some keywording ...

Surely you are old enough to know better! Take it easy John, go sit down with an ice cream, and Bopsie on your lap.

You're right, Charles, I am.

Bopsey isn't quite up to laps yet, but has sat on mine for about 2 minutes recently.

She's remarkably well adjusted for a little cat who's spent the first year or so of her life in "jail".

She's slowly getting used to being in a loving home with us, but it will take some more time yet.

It was 38°C here again today, but I have just done some computer stuff, and little else. Apparently, there is going to be a cool change later tonight, thank goodness.

At least our 4 largish airconditioners and solar panels keep the house cool, without bankrupting us ... We replaced the three remaining 27 y.o. airconditioners last year. The new ones are the same brand, Fujitsu, but about one quarter the price to run, even though higher output.

Snowpocalypse 2025 has begun. The powdery snow was covering the driveway almost as fast as I could get rid of it with the blower. Local weather gurus say we are right on the dividing line between significant amounts of snow or significant amounts of ice. I'll take the snow. Once the snow piles up, we are expected to get a Polar Vortex visit, with temps in the low single digits F. Looks like my exercise is going to be on the indoor trainer for the next week or so.
