How's weather at your place?

Sadly, not an option for me.
Yeah, I know, easier said than done. I'd probably be in for a nervous breakdown if I had to move myself (not joking). When we moved from Dordrecht (slightly below sea level and an island enclosed by rivers) to Eindhoven (16 m above sea level) in 2007, I felt reassured that I would keep my feet dry. In 1996 we were seriously in fear of flooding but in the end nothing happened to us.

14 degrees fahrenheit at my house at dawn the past two days. That's -10 celsius. Unusually cold for the northeast U.S. when winter hasn't even officially started yet. That's tomorrow. But David wins the northeast prize in Vermont's Kingdom at -10 fahrenheit. That's near the Canadian border.

Sunny and cold the past few days, with lows in the teens (F) and low 20s. Hasn't kept me from riding my bike. I'm much more concerned about people blowing through intersections and backing out of driveways without looking than I am the cold. I've had several encounters that were far closer than they should have been, and I live in what is supposed to be a quiet neighborhood.

I'm about 25 miles NW of Philly; I'm starting to think it's time to talk to the Mrs. about moving down to the Carolina's or further, maybe in a few years. Either that or I need to figure out how to work from home full-time and don't leave my house until Spring.

First day of winter, and here in deep southeast Arizona it is currently sunny and 62°F (17°C). Low in the morning forecast to be at freezing, partly cloudy with a high of 66°F (19°C). Looks like rain Tuesday, and a chance of rain/ snow mix next Friday and Saturday. :coffee-79:

For a second, I thought this would be the rain you need, Sue, just in time for Christmas. But it looks like it won't be enough in the right places...

We had something which was *almost* rain, yesterday. There were clouds, and some wet stuff in the air... almost like a very heavy mist... but it never reached the ground. The Green Wattle Creek fire which has decimated a couple of towns down south, was so fierce, it generated its own weather system, and it rained there too, but not enough to douse the fire. Still overcast here today (Christmas eve already... where did the year get to??) but I doubt there will be much rain. Certainly not enough to put fires out.

We had over 10 inches of rain in December in Sonoma County. Too bad it didn't come in November to head off the Kincade fire here (179 houses lost). We know what you're going through in your country.

Very much like early Spring here over the past few days. Chilly and foggy in the morning, turning sunny and climbing into the 50s and even 60s (F) by early afternoon. I actually washed my car in a light jacket yesterday afternoon. Rain moves in Saturday. Sorry to hear of those suffering from drought and fires.
