We had 10 inches of snow, which hasn't happened since 1988, in Memphis over the last two days. We are expecting about an inch today. Temperatures will stay low, 5F, tonight then up to 50 by Sunday and into the 60's next week.
Snowblower wouldn't run, dangit! I've used it maybe 4 times since I bought it, last time several years ago. So out came the snow shovel. A neighbor came over and helped clear my driveway, then my wife and I went down the street clearing sidewalks and driveways for other neighbors. It made the morning go by quickly.
Amazingly balmy again on the East coast of NSW Australia. Loving it. I have no complaints about the rain (I finally have lawn again, instead of dry dirt, and a yard guy who knows how to manage it) and I have no complaints about the temperatures which range from 18-25ºC most days. I could live with this through every summer!!
After our snowpocalypse we are having similar issues, but not quite as bad, as Texas. Memphis has multiple water main breaks; we do not have enough pressure to shower; we have to boil water for drinking or cooking. It's a mess that may take weeks to repair. I am having to bring drinking water from home to work. So far people are coping pretty well. Thus far I haven't seen signs of violence!
