Friday morning I wrote in another thread: The weather service is predicting rain for this morning. An hour ago there was a beautiful sunrise. I don't see rain, just a bit of moisture on the deck from yesterday afternoon's brief showers. Boy, did I have to eat those words. It started raining Friday afternoon, and didn't stop until this morning. Like every other hillside home in my state, water runoff is a huge pain.

@Biro asked for photos of my van conversion project, so here goes. I am trying to keep this as minimalist, inexpensive, and low impact as possible - for a variety of reasons.
I am starting with a real "beater" van, after getting the one "do this NOW" item done on the van, the next step was removing the middle seats - I am keeping the third row stowed away for now. I have a 5x7' rug and a cabinet from Restore that will hold the water works and have room for the stove.

All seats raised. Standard configuration minivan.

Third row stowed, second row being removed. Note the rug and cabinet.

Excellent! Fairly inexpensive mini-vans are pretty easy to find and can be converted for all kinds of uses. This doesn't look like a Chrysler/Plymouth/Dodge. Maybe a Ford?

We've had very Spring-like weather the past few days. Early Spring, mind you, with temps dropping into the low 30s or even high 20s at night, but sunny and warming up to where it's comfortable to be out on a bike with a light jacket. After a weekend of prolonged rain and major flooding throughout our region, we are expecting at least a week of mild, dry conditions. Very much welcome at this point.

Wild weather on the NSW east coast. The mid north coast is copping it really bad, we are getting hammered but nothing like that. @rayvonn Sydney may be copping a rain bomb today (if it hasnt already)

The word in town is that it’s going to be a month’s worth in one day tomorrow.

We thought the severe weather from the Southeast U.S. (which brought thunderstorms, tornadoes, rain and hail) was going to reach us in the Northeast this morning. Heavy rain and even snow was expected as temperatures dropped. But any precipitation ended early this morning. What we have now is a sunny, blustery day with temperatures around 35F (2C). After temperatures touching 70F (21C) last week, Mother Nature can't decide if she's heading into Spring or not.

Anticyclonic murk today ( and yesterday, and probably for the next week). 10 degrees C, light winds, total cloud cover. “Boring“ sums it up nicely. Still a bit miserable for doing any gardening, and too cold for the shed re-painting that needs to be done. Back to the book it is, then!

Likewise. And bed. The rain still hasnt stopped here, next door neighbour has a pond instead of a front yard

I have a stream running past the front of the house, into a rubble drain,

and Toby is miserable as hell, because he’s stuck indoors. He got caught out last night when it started bucketing down, under neighbour’s car, then running through the rain and trying to find a path across the pond and the stream to get to the safety of home.
