Yus. The cold air is coming down from the arctic and it's circling back around the UK like a gigantic cyclon that recycles the cold air and the story clouds. The hot air coming from Africa over Europe is pushing this air against the cold air over UK making it spin and keeping it from making landfall over Europe ... Keeping UK and Ireland cold and wet and keeping most of Europe hot and dry. It's that gust of clouds and wind over the Atlantic ocean heading eastwards over the UK and seemingly no where else in Europe which is in the middle of a heatwave.
This basically reminds me of the changing weather patterns from the start of The Day After Tomorrow movie. Not that I've been taking much notice of weather patterns over Europe for the last 35 years but this is the worst state I ever seen the continent in.
