Really interesting, I often wonder about this sort of thing with art, when someone in a cravat tells you what the artist was thinking and trying to create, how you can draw this or that from what has been made or what the intention is. And a lot of the time I think - I bet he just wanted to pickle a sheep and has nothing to say about the fragility of life or the crushing of the political left in America or whatever. Some pseudo intellectual has asked the question, and they've gone, "erm, yeah, sure".

I like him.
 
Saul Leiter is arguably my favorite photographer. Someone who simply had a great eye and feel for graphic form and interesting use of color. He has a new book coming out later this year.
