I have been having some problems driving at night and major problems getting in and out of the Porsche 911 SC Targa I have had since new (44 years). Even with the top off, it is a struggle and I did not want to sell it even though it is worth more than I paid for it new. I gave it to my youngest daughter and her husband. She has a great job as a vice president of a company in Dallas and can afford the costs of maintenance as well as a great husband who is good with mechanical stuff.

My daughter's first car was my old TR-6 and she has had an MGB, BMW 635 Coupe, a bunch of Infiniti coupes or convertibles, and has a nice Lexus coupe now so she not only has loved my Porsche but knows how to drive it also. A second pair of seats, another Targa top, floor jack, jack stands, pressure washer, and Porsche parts and tool kit have already left and the car awaits an enclosed trailer to transport it to Texas on the 19th of this month. I expected to have remorse but I know I did the right thing and I will visit the Porsche in November. The smile of her husband when he drove it last Sunday was something that gave me joy also. It is now up to my older Chevrolet to get me to and from places. I will miss the fresh air hitting my bald head and the sound of the flat-six air-cooled engine roaring through the gears. Here is a picture my wife took of the car a few months ago. We have got my daughter set up for the Porsche club and for a mechanic.,

Dad, I'm your long lost son and I want a share of my rightful Porsche.

Seriously Mel, what a great thing to do and we all know it's gone to the one person who will love and cherish it; lucky girl.

Respect sir!

The Porsche has gone to Texas. Here are some pics of it leaving. She has the car now and sent pictures of it garaged and loved. Unfortunately I can not convert the image from my messenger to show her happiness.
