I think I'm about to have a photo published in the NY Times

I like your wife's web-site a lot more than the skimpy Times article. But, still, good on them to give the site a mention. Be interesting how much more traffic she gets as a result...

Yesterday, she got more traffic in one day than the site's ever had in the year+ it's been alive.

And the credit... I don't care enough. It's just something I noticed. I think it's gotten most of the eyeballs it's gonna get already, so there's little point in asking them to amend it now. Doesn't bug me.

Congrats! I'd definitely send a message to the writer and ask for photo credit. And it they don't respond, escalate to her editor. The New York Times should care enough to fix this.

Well, I guess I DID care enough to try. I wrote the author yesterday, and she responded immediately.

wish you'd told me immediately! that sucks.i did turn it in with credit. GRRRR

just emailed editor and he should be able to add it online.

I replied: "Oh thank you! I was too shy to say anything at first. Figured it might not be kosher to ask."

Her response:

Stand up for your photo rights! They just screwed up! Twice in two weeks for my stories. Highly unusual for NYT!

And now it's fixed. Woo Hoo!
