Canon I'd like to experiment with a hotshoe 28mm OVF on my G12 . . .

Does anyone have one to loan, rent, or sell? I would even be open to one of those Russian turret finders.

Also, if anyone has used an OVF on the hotshoe of your G series, I'd be interested in hearing about your experience.

Can't help you out with a view finder, but here is a video that shows what you're trying to do. Best part is you won't even have any setup to do because you are at 28mm which is where the G12 starts

My external OVF is designed to work with a 47mm lens - it's from my Pentax Q (which has been sold off). But this looks like it'll do the trick for well under $100:
