this is obviously a lid and hinge. And the main component (container) is near the fore of the image. Does it use it's own electricity or does it rely on a heat source? And probably something I've never seen before

It requires an external heat source. Generally used on a stovetop.

The reason I did not identify it after the first image was that I'm on the road and have nothing interesting to show at the moment.
Sometimes it's easier to guess than to show the next one.

Anyway, in such case - could someone please post the new one?
