If you could spend a day with any photographer, past or present, who would it be and why?

Yes, I thought the pairing so diverse, polar opposites, absurd in theory, I see comedic value coming from it, wholly at Kai's expense. My serious choice though would be Ray.

oh yes, the why... I could actually stand a chance of learning something.

I don't think I can pick just one. How about spending half the time with Chim AKA David Seymour and the other half with Robert Capa - as long as I know I wouldn't be wounded or shot, in all honesty...because I know there would be many war time moments.

Robert Capa: http://www.magnumphotos.com/C.aspx?VP3=CMS3&VF=MAGO31_10_VForm&ERID=24KL535353 and David Seymour AKA Chim: http://www.magnumphotos.com/C.aspx?VP3=CMS3&VF=MAGO31_10_VForm&ERID=24KL53Z58C

If you don't know Magnum, it's a superb place to look at photographs.

My sweetie. She occasionally takes pics with her P&S, and I'd rather spend the day with her than any person, ever.

You have demonstrated that there is at least one smart person in the group!

(Here's a guy who is going to get something GOOD for Christmas . . . a bushel basket of kisses, maybe . . . )

Cheers, Jock

Briar from here
Mark Littlejohn from somewhere else

Both put (or extract) plenty of atmosphere into their images

Paul Caponigro or Edward Weston. Or Minor White. It's hard to choose.

Did I mention Paul Strand, Dorothea Lange, or Walker Evans? And I probably learned more technically from Ansel Adams' series, especially The Negative than just about anything.

Could I have a week, one day with each of the above??
