Update: It seems the silver version shown below is actually a Photoshopped version of the black one. However, Amazon Japan had a listing for a silver version, and various rumor sites are reporting that the real thing looks a lot like this Photoshopped version.

________

Many of you have seen the leaked images of the soon-to-be announced Olympus E-M5 with optional battery grip attached. Here are two of the latest images to be making the rounds:

I do believe that I will have to buy this camera in silver .

If anyone knows the primary source where these images were first posted, let me know so I can attribute them properly. I tried searching for the words in the watermark and came up with nothing.

you should be able to figure it out...

Wow, that may have been the SHORTEST year on record Amin!

And I also believe I'll be right behind you in line for this in silver as well. This ticks all of the m43 buttons for me. The only thing I'd do if I could would be make it an upper left corner EVF instead of a hump, but as long as the EVF is flush with the rear screen, which it certainly appears to be, that won't get in my way of buying it. I thought I'd be adding it, but I suspect I'll sell the epl3 to help finance it, given how small this looks like it will be...

that looks very, very pretty in silver! I'd still go for the black one though... looks like Olympus is getting very, very close to producing my perfect camera body! Now, lots weatherproof pancakes, please!

In my defense, I said I was going to try my best not to buy another camera these year and that I was going on record saying I wouldn't buy more than one camera this year. Sadly, I don't think that my best is good enough to resist this camera . However, if I buy this camera, then I absolutely will not buy another camera after that in 2012 View attachment 2622.

OK so on the record Amin is not buying a Fuji XPro1 this year! Please save reply 5 of this thread as a front page "perpetually at the top" stickie

Pretty tempting now that the fact it is mu43 mount has been confirmed (though what will this mean for the future of Oly's dSLR line?). The shots with the grip look intriguing...I say "intriguing" as the more I look at the OM-D (gripped or otherwise) the more I am undecided! I think its feel in hand, sensor performance, and interaction with Panasonic lenses (PL25 especially) will be the clincher.

I've been bleating on about wanting a digital OM-4 for so long I can't quite believe they have finally done it!
Wonder if it has multi spot metering for nostalgic purposes?

But I so wanted a GXR with m mount, and I can't really justify getting one let alone two.

Now that I would have guessed - the inner Goth will never die. As someone who had long black hair teased in every direction, black eyeliner and a morbid fascination for Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, Siouxie and the Banshees, et. al. in the eighties, I'm with you on the colour choice Lili

From everything I have read so far it certainly seems this will be a solid, versatile camera. I hope it performs well. I intend adding a camera sometime this spring, and though it probably won't hit the mark in overall IQ, I'll certainly look at this one.

LOL, at times my hair has been streaked jet black and ice blonde, same music choices, though now it is more Nightwish.
Nails are black now too :)

I was a bit nervous on size, when I saw the first images with the battery grip. Without this, the size looks pretty reasonable... it looks like similar dimensions to the E-P3, with the exception of the magic pyramid, of course.

Argghhh, I have like negative zero budget for another camera now, but I will probably end up with a black version sooner or later.
