I hope people are happy with this subject - it is one that I like with M43s as they are great for low light no flash shots - (hand held)

G1 - 20mm f1.7 @ 1/40sec at f1.8 ISO400
very very slight crop and a little "fill light" in LR3
WB = "as shot"

I think this is going to be a great thread, Bill, thank you. Churches, synagogues, mosques, temples, etc., all hold so many opportunities for a good eye.

Your photograph is lovely - the light falling on the the Christ figure is perfect, and I really like the way you chose to leave the iron grate/gate in the foreground. A real sense of solitude here as we consider the past and the present.

Thanks Djarum

It is the Castle of Javier, Navarre, Northern Spain - he co founded the Jesuit Society who have a large presence on the site

He travelled the world promoting the cause, (Christianity and the Catholic religion), died at the age of 43 as he was about to enter China and was canonised later as St Francis Xavier, (San Francisco Javier)

Here is a link to an information web site plus an image I took of the castle

The first and last photos were taken at Catedral Dulce Nombre de Jesús, Caguas, Puerto Rico. The second and third were taken at St. Patrick´s Cathedral in New York City.

All were taken with the Lumix 20mm, the first three with an Oly E-P1 and the last with the Lumix G2.

Regards,

Antonio

All this talk of other compacts which is really good - but you have to realise what excellent cameras the EP and G are with the 20mm and 17mm lens

The G1/EP1 with the 20mm is just great for indoor shots

Bill,

I can say without reservation that the 20mm is what makes m4/3 work for me. After years of shooting F4.0 zooms on my DSLR, shooting with an F1.7 lens has been nothing short of a revelation.

Of course, the 45mm Lumix is no slouch either.

Regards,

Antonio

Yes, yes, yes...rub it in Bill!:dash2::wink:

All great shots coming along in this thread!

Ray, if you wouldn't mind editing to let us know which camera you were using...no doubt it's a PEN. Of course, I can click on it and see it's an E-P2.
