Feedback Including a link isn't working properly

Just tried several times to nominate an image for the front page. I tried just copying the link to the post with the share button, and adding the link manually, but it just seems to be displayed as plain text, although clicking the text takes you to the right place. It usually displays a preview of the link. This is using Brave on Android 14 on my tablet.

I had the same problem some weeks ago and Matt found the solution:
I must have clicked on the [ ] Toggle BB Code (top right in the window) without me noticing it.
When I clicked on it again, everything was back to normal. Hope this works for you too, Martin.

It's possible it's the same reason, but not displaying the preview may have other reasons. It seems to have been a fluke, though - the post below works as expected.

@theoldsmithy Check for the BB code thing, Martin, if it's not what's the problem, we'll dig deeper.

The odd thing is that in "BB code mode", automatic linking shouldn't work.

Something's definitely off ... I'll try to reproduce the issue - but it has to wait until tomorrow.

It wasn't the BB code problem as far as I can see. If you use Brave on Android, using the "Share this post" icon and copying the link doesn't work as intended - there's a title included, like "Post in thread: 'Dramatic B&W images'" in the above case. If you include this part, the preview won't work. You have to remove the "caption", i.e. everything but the URL.

It's actually a "Brave for Mobile" thing - the same issue exists on i(Pad)OS. On PC, it's more bare-bones, but more functional - you just get to copy the link proper (the URL), no captions added ...

FWIW, I've seen it happen to other members without the "caption" stuff involved, once again just now.

Something's still flaky ... However, my money's on mobile apps having their part in this.
