In order to get a usable EVF, we keep the ISO 100 exposure (aperture & shutter speed), but change ISO to 400 and DR to 400%. This leaves the RAW exposure unchanged, but provides a live view image that is 2 stops brighter.
Never forget that ISO 100 / DR100% and ISO 400 / DR400% are exactly the same on the RAW recording level. Of course, you have to translate these values if you are using a camera with base ISO 200. Then, ISO 200 / DR100% and ISO 800 / DR400% are exactly the same.
The zoom is very versatile, and I'd recommend it to everybody as a primary GFX lens. If you only can afford one lens or only want to schlepp one lens: get the zoom. It will do the job.
And in case the family of the maharaja of Jodphur unexpectedly invites you to attend a polo match, also bring an X-T2 with a handy 55-200mm zoom, because the GFX won't really catch the action from the bleachers.
Rico, thank you for these pictures from India - all completely natural looking, despite all the shadow lifting. My favourite is the one with the people ascending the stairs (the darker version). Will you be writing one of your X-pert articles about the X-H1?
