This gold mine head marks the entry to Meekatharra and the start of the Meeka Heritage Walk Trail. A two-kilometre wander around the town exploring its heritage.
Came across this infrastructure on the Marvel Lock- Forrestania Road, Hyden when in the area doing water drops for my Holland Track fatbike ride. I presume this is a mini substation for a local mine.

Heerema Sleipnir, the world's heaviest duty crane ship. Built for installing offshore platforms and such. The photo doesn't do it justice, it dominated the skyline for miles around, despite being in the middle of the largest industrial port outside of Asia (Rotterdam). Its footprint is large enough to have four and a half football fields side by side on its deck, and its cranes can carry the weight of a hundred Boeing 747's.

(btw. This is also quite a good illustration of how well the Z 50 handles ISO 3200 - at 100%, there's just a tiny amount of chrominance noise to be seen, not enough to really impact the image; luminance noise is even less visible).
