As an aside I also suffer an "official issue" iPhone - the worst phone in the history of phonedom and a classic example of "the emperor's new clothes" - it's a great pocket toy, but an abysmal communications device. I prefer to use my Nokia E71 - coming up to five years old but still a better business tool because it actually facilitates the making and receiving of calls
I use my iphone for texting, mostly, and occasionally receiving calls (I rarely make them) but interestingly, have only had issues with dropped calls when using different carriers to my normal. Also never had an issue with the antenna during my brief foray into having an iPhone 4... went back to 3GS because I like the form of it much better.
There's a lot to like about Android, but even though I use an antivirus prog on my android phone, I still get fretful about possible malware. Apple may be a walled garden but I know that the apps I download are safe. *shrug* its horses for courses. I wish Apple would make a smaller iPad but I don't think that's too likely. I bought mine originally for reading (and almost never used it for that) and games/email/web when I did not want to be sitting at a computer. For that, its perfect.
iPad 3, however, for me to buy, is going to have to be lighter than the 2 (which is lighter than the 1) and there has to be a really compelling set of features for me to buy it. I am hanging out to see what its bringing, but am increasinly tempted to get a 2 just because the discount houses are selling dirt cheap at the moment (clearing stock), and soon, purchase of a 2 will only be possible as second hand, or via the refurb store.
Anyway... onward!
