Animals Is it a hedgehog? Is it a porcupine? No, it's an echidna.

Earlier this week my cat was walking along outside the house when something caught his attention so he trotted over to have a look. It was an echidna, an actual wild echidna.

It foraged around a bit, getting closer and closer to where we were standing, then it settled next to the jasmine that my father planted just the day before, and took a 15 min nap right in front of us.

The next day, I was in my study when I saw it walking around outside again before disappearing into the bush on the other side of the property.

Wow, I first saw theses amazing little egg laying mammals on David Attenborough‘s The Life of Mammals as part of one of my Uni courses. They are fascinating little creatures. Well spotted!
