Malaysian, let's collaborate to document the unique street life of Malaysia in this thread...
https://www.photographerslounge.org/f23/black-white-monotone-sepia-words-no-words-184/index91.html is also a durian life style.

To continue....

Malaysia has many international restaurant. However, it is the eateries stalls that make
this country unique (among other asian countries... :)).

Jimmy, you are making me hungry!

Thank you for starting this thread, though I am really going to have to eat something good before looking at it in the future.:2thumbs:

Are those real palm fronds in your second photo or are they plastic - so interesting and pretty, either way.

BB,
those are real banana leaves.

most southern indian eateries in Malaysia, food is served on
banana leaves and eat with hand.

i'd like to document/ share Malaysia unique multi-racial life style
and hope other Malaysian will contribute as well. let's see how
this thread will turn out.

here's another malaysia's favorite that goes really well with a
cold beer for you...

I'm impressed and a bit chagrined to think that I would even consider that they'd be made of plastic!

Your food looks beautiful no matter where it is served.

Love this latest picture and I feel the same way about satay! I can feel the heat and smell the aromas from here, Jimmy!

satay is served with thick peanut curry gravy with some cucumber and onion.
i am travelling to the east coast of Malaysia today. let's hope if i can get some
interesting shots.

The food doesn't just look beautiful, it tastes heavenly, too! I'm going to have to make a trip back to Singapore next year and head to Malaysia (Penang) for, what my cousin calls it, "an eathing holiday".

turbodieselvw,
i still feel M'sia is a food paradise - cheap and good.
(yes; good is subjective... :p)

besides food, i think Malaysia still has good mix of the "news" and "olds".
especially in a multiracial country, the olds are unique in its own way
and is getting lesser by the days. i hope to document some of them in
this thread before they are all gone. these olds are what i call "durian life"
(bitter-sweet/ loved-hated). not many in Kuala Lumpur left. need to go
out skirt (smaller towns/ kampong) to find them.

if you have some photos of older S'pore, please share with us.

Jimmy, I'm really enjoying traveling with you and seeing both the new and the old...and, of course, the people you met. It also goes without saying that you are making me really, really hungry!
