It's All About The Eyes - Kia

It's no secret I love animals. Years ago I used to be a people photographer professionally. I fell in love with animals 7 years ago when I moved to Oregon. The state of the union belongs to nature. 90% of Oregon's population lives on just 10% of Oregon's land. The rest is wild.

The Amur leopards at the Portland, Oregon Zoo represent a dying species. Only 35 of these beautiful cats still live in the wild. The rest are in zoos. X-E1 55-200mm F/3.5-4.8 ISO1600, F/8.0, 1/240"

great look in her (?) eyes. It would be a tragedy to see the Amur leopards go extinct, but with so few animals in the wild, it seems inevitable (if poaching, habitat loss and simply the dangers of being a leopard doesn't wipe them out, then the inbreeding will, in due time...). The only chance I see for them would be a massive re-introduction program by the world's zoo's, but I don't know how realistic that is.
