Leica Showcase Komura 135/3.5 Leica Mount

Brian

Product of the Fifties
Komura is a well-known 3rd party maker of lenses for SLR's, usually sell under various brand names. This particular lens was marketed as a "Super-Vemar", but is identical to the Super-Acall. This particular lens also needed a CLA. If you ever get one, and need to lube it: DO NOT SEPARATE THE HELICAL!!! It is fairly soft and gave me fits to screw back together. I had to use a screw driver to deepen the grooves to get it to screw back together. This lens takes 46mm filters and hood. First impression- not as sharp as the Canon and Nikkor lens. It is a pretty lens, shiny chrome and black matte finish.

All shots with a Yellow filter, wide-open. I'll try this lens with the M9 soon.

Took the Komura out today for a walk in the neighborhood.

All shots wide-open at F3.5 with a Walz Y2 (medium yellow) filter. The filter is 1-stop compensation, most commonly used with B&W film. All shots have a Gamma curve added, converted to 16-bit pixels in the DNG file. LR6 used to export to JPEG, no post-processing.
