Fuji Late to the party: My Fuji X100 Review is up on my blog

IIRC, the upcoming firmware update for the X100 will also incorprate a change in selecting the AF frame. With the update, you won't have to press and HOLD the AF button during frame selection. I'd also expect AF selection to become an Fn function. In any case, the update is already overdue (it was originally scheduled for a end of July release), so I guess Fuji decided to make it bigger than originally planned. We'll see.

John, late to the party I see you are,
But even this late you deserve a cigar.
I enjoyed your critique, the images are great.
Dollars to doughnuts, a XP1 is your fate.

Thanks for all the great info!

I suspect Fuji -- whose camera operation isn't huge -- is feeling stressed by all the new models they have made. After awhile, they may make the same decision that so many others have: there is no financial incentive to improve the "obsolete" products. It may be otherwise -- but time spent developing and testing (though Fuji isn't strong on testing, lol) firmware for older products is time spent NOT developing new or current products.

I'll be delighted if they do all that and I hope they do -- but I suspect the trickle of improvements will have to end.

Gary's a pusher, though his drug is sublime
He hooks folks on Fuji, so he spends his time
I just have to wonder, as he grows his flock
Whether Gary is sitting on Fujifilm stock?...

I'm just bubbling with glee,
With all that is Fuji.
The lenses so sharp, the IQ is like a fine wine,
All in a sexy little body, which doesn't feel like a bovine.

Do I push for profit, haven't given that a thought.
Fuji stock I haven't bought.
Now that the idea is on the table,
Maybe I shall, while I am still able.

People have related Gary's poetry to Dr. Seuss but I really think it's more Shel Silverstein -- and I mean that as a compliment since I love Shel.

And again thanks all for the kind feedback!

Thank you Gary for all poetry that makes us smile ..
Now I reckon u do have a big gear pile ,
Please send that to me before u exile ,
I agree with u totally Gary ,
Fuji does have substance and style ..
Cameras are seductive but sometimes AF is futile
