GAS Latest Shiny Things (non camera related)

I've been hankering after a pair of Clarks Desert Boots for quite a while now, having owned some years ago, but not realizing there were several different models with some quite different features. I had bought the ones called the Bushacre 2, and was a bit disappointed with the comfort and with how quickly they wore out. After them, I was really into the simplicity of the chukka and tried out several different shoes, looking for a dressier boot that could work casually or in the office. I found something by Calvin Klein that looked good, but the harder lug soles cracked eventually. Tried a different Clarks chukka, which was decent but didn't hold up as long as I'd hoped. Finally looked more into the differences between the types of Desert Boot and found the Desert Boot 2 had the features I wanted: leather lined interior, metal eyelets, rubber sole with some give, but not spongy crepe rubber, nor the slightly hollow rubber soles of the Bushacre. Then these guys were on sale on Amazon for $51, seemingly the right price to try them out. I bought them, and ahh, that's the shoe I was missing.

Yes, most of the run for 0.50 £ to 2-4 £ each. They are meant to be used with NFC to unlock characters ingame using the Nintendo Wii or Switch but I have no interest in those games. They are decently detailed with a cartoons look to them but I like that look, it reminds me of The Clone Wars and I loved that show.

Also. Apparently, there's an FX identical model of these but the lightsabers glowimg (probably has coin sized batteries in the base) for around 8 to 12 £ each. (I might be tempted to get those one day, they would look cool in the evening in the dark)
I thought I recognized them. My kid used to have a bunch of these, although IIRC the game didn't hold his attention for too long. I imagine they're probably still lying around in some drawer.

I've had a pair of Bushacre 2's that I've been happy with for a number of years (although I wear them probably only about 25 days a year). I never understood why this style doesn't have a third eyelet, though.

I'm still wearing my two pairs of Harrison desert boots I bought as a Christmas special in 1978.

They were the last Australian bootmaker, and got put out of business by the Chinese shortly afterwards. However, the Chinese don't seem to be able to get western European foot shapes right, and I take a 7F in Australian sizes, 7½EEEE in US sizing. Daisy Duck feet ...

Allen Edmonds leather-lined chukkas are excellent, though not inexpensive. Horween leather IIRC, and a slightly lugged sole. Mine have lasted years, and look even better with patina. Good value.
Their Chandlers are really nice looking. I have a feeling the Astorflex Greenflex is one of the best for the crepe rubber soles, but durable harder soles are something I want. Thanks for the recommendation.

GAS? What GAS?

My YouTube feed has recently been showing me videos talking about "seniors over 60", to which I shout at the TV "I am not a senior! I ride a bike!"

Almost on cue, YT shows a video title proclaiming the bike in the box above " The best e-bike for seniors over 60."

Sigh.
A true millennial, apparently, I saw the box and immediately thought, "hey nice big TV!"

Looking forward to hearing your opinion. Facebook keeps trying to encourage me to buy this same brand of e-bike for some reason.

My Stressless ergonomic armchair and footstool just arrived at ~1800H today

It's bliss ... :) ...

Three hours sitting, without even wheat bags, and my back feels good.

The two of them cost a fair percentage of the cost of an X2D ... But, worth every cent!
SWMBO's is taking longer to make, and we will get hers in mid June sometime. Not quite as critical as mine, which fortunately was in stock in Sydney.

Designed and manufactured in Norway.

Photos will follow.

That's a cool looking chair John, but the arms look like they're too close to the seat bottom to be of much support when sitting in it.
Are they?
Au contraire, absolutely perfect dimensions.
A chair designed for humans ...
It is the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in, by far. Worth every penny, AoA.

They do come in three different sizes. Mine is a medium. My wife's will be the small version. It will not be delivered until mid June.
