Laughter, the best medicine. The fellow on the right is dying of cancer. The woman on the left is a friend visiting for lunch, take-out from a local seafood restaurant. The fellow was a virtual hermit who let his daughter in only rarely. So it was good he let us in once week to meet and have lunch.

Later:
We met with Don every Wednesday for about a year and a half, even when he was in hospice care. We also found he was fond of very thick strawberry milkshakes when he was in hospice care. He did not like the food where he was but that milkshake was just fine. He died peacefully and had a fine memorial. He is much missed as he was fun and cantankerous. The woman in the photo and I talk about Don a lot. He was a good guy.
