The 50 Cron is actually the oldest lens design in the current Leica catalog and the last Walter Mandler design still in production. Needless to say, I'm a pretty big fan myself as it is the only Leica that I ever bought new, and is my default lens for most outings.
Brought my M Monochrom and 50mm Summicron to a local Bakersfield bar today. This place is known for its vintage motorcycle collection, but also for the excellent beers they brew on site. All images shot though an orange filter with minimal post. ISO varies, but except for motorcycles, which were at f/4, the others of the beer making equipment were all shot wide-open at f/2.
The posted images look wonderful. Thanks.
I am partial to my Rigid Summicron. It is my favorite lens overall. What is there not to like about a 50mm Summicron!
It has high resolution; is beautifully crafted; has medium contrast (in my lens).
