I've managed to snag a 1933 sample of the 5cm f/2.5 Hektor lens. Unfortunately the center of the front element is badly scuffed, causing all kinds of fuzziness at apertures smaller than f/6.3.
The Hektor is a triplet consisting of 6 elements in 3 groups of 2 cemented elements each. Designed by Max Berek in 1931 and produced mainly in 1932 and 1933 for a total of some 10000 units.
Soft-wide open, reasonably sharp stopped down, flare-prone. Yep, it sounds like a Leitz lens
Some images taken at f/4.5 in/around the fortress town of Heusden.
Camera: Leica IIIc (1942)
Lens: Leitz 5,0cm f/2.5 Hektor (1933)
Film: Fomapan 100 Classic (Ro9, 1+25, 6.5 minutes)
1. Abandon all hope...
2. ...ye who enter here.
3.
4. foundations of one of the old fortress gates
Not overly happy with the results. I'm thinking about having the front element polished.
