Hall of Famer
Wow šŸ˜³ Leica has introduced Leica LUX camera app for iPhone (at least)

This is the first test run in Aperture mode f/1.4

I was ready to poo poo this I mean it sounds a bit ridiculous paying $8 per month. Then I saw some of the images and thought oh dear, they actually do look quite genuine, well, at least the b&w images Iā€™ve seen. Donā€™t mind admitting Iā€™ve been quite impressed in terms of the look. But no, not $8 per month, this is not PS.

Looks interesting. Say, does this app emulate Leica lenses and FF look or is this a connection app / remote control for a camera?
It is emulator and I haven't paid the subscription, free version has only one lens and couple colour modes. I'll give it a try and then judge whether worth the subscription or not. The Aperture mode is what I'm looking for, app is easy enough compared to standard iPhone camera app, that it might be useable.

I'll try the payable version for 14 days free. More 'lenses' and features. I've noticed to taking nowadays 99% of iPhone pictures with the Leica app instead of the native iPhone camera app.

I'd be using it all the bleedin' time getting my money's worth if I was locked into that subscription model. I can't wait to see what you do when the free period runs out.

I tried the app on my work phone (iPhone 12) and while it's elegant and stylish, the view is sluggish when the emulations are enabled.

There should be a non-wysiwyg mode in here that you only get the final simulated result after the shutter's fired. That's how it is with rangefinders anyhow.

You are @mike3996 right, the app is a bit sluggish in my iPhone 12, too. It depends what other is going on with the phone. It has improved with updates but it still doesn't work 100%. But I just got used to it and Aperture mode šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

This is the picture one definitely doesn't want to take, a view from Children Hospital patient room. Every cloud has a silver lining, my two years old grandson was amazed by the helicopter landings on the roof of another hospital just opposite side of his room.

And no worries at the moment, kid has been released to home care. Intensive four weeks now, and we all hope he doesn't need to visit the hospital again. Fingers crossed šŸ¤ž
