Leica Showcase Leica M10-R / Summicron-M 1:2.0/50

This is for a combination of all M10 versions and the Leica Summicron 50. I recently acquired this lens and have fallen in love with it. Please feel free to add you contributions to the thread. Please include where the photos were taken.

The following were taken on a foggy morning on Oyster Creek in Sugar Land, Texas. The Greater Houston Rowing Club was out on the creek.

I found a used one in like new condition. All that was missing was some of the original papers. I probably saved 10%-15% over a new lens.

I found like new sample, missing the box saved me 30% compared to new one 😎

Took me about 6 months (! )to properly understand mine but I can tell you once you do, you'll never sell it.

Actually the rotation move is quite short, so needs practice for muscle memory.

Works on Leica M8 as well. But I'd forgotten the IR issue 🤦‍♂️ UV/IR cut filter ordered…

Just still learning this lens, but oh boy I really like what it produces.

Abandoned sugar mill in Sugar Land Texas. Once the home of Imperial “Pure Cane” Sugar. What I remember most about Imperial Sugar is that it was just about the only sugar brand anyone in Houston used. When traveling through the state, if you stopped at a diner or cafe, you would see packets of Imperial Sugar with scenes from around the state on the tables. While we still buy it, it is not quite the same anymore. Time change.

I have started carrying a small note pad and pen to record apertures and other information about where I was, conditions and anything else that I may want to remember.

I used to make notes on my iPhone for that, but of course writing with a pencil on paper is much more appropriate!
