Leica Showcase Leica M240

Using the M240 for landscape and architectural photography turns out to be a satisfying endeavor. I spent a few days in Manhattan and walked around with the 35mm ASPH f2 as well as the 50mm ASPH f1.4 Lux and even the CV 15mm Super Heliar. The color shots are very nice and the B&W came out quite well too... Here are some color shots of the High Line walk from 14th to 34th streets.

B&W are also quite good from the CV15mm and the 35mm ASPH

The Manhattan from Brooklyn is especially good. I'd like more of my own photos to look more like art than just a literal snapshot of whatever, and I've seen the light so to speak, but it isn't easy to produce the best results. You've got some of that magic going here, and it helps me think about new work seeing this.

Definitely possible to obtain decent results. LR5 alone will allow some pretty good "developing". Check out the various youtube tutorials. Also, the Nik software suite and the On1 software are very powerful and easy to use. The nice thing about it is that they work from inside LR5.
At first, it's easy to get carried away and go overboard with the effects, but that's OK too :D. By and by you'll find stuff that works for you.
Good luck!

PS, I see you have a Leica Q :2thumbs:

Here's one with the 50mm Summilux using VSCO and Nik. in LR5

That's as good as I've seen with such a narrow DOF. I've been plagued with DOF issues on my Q camera, and it just seems that having the larger sensor pulls me away from autofocus, so that I have to set aperture and focus manually most of the time.

Christina, I didn't take you for the type to go for cigars ... :D

Glad the M240 is back and in top shape! When would you use the f1.5 Sonnar versus the f1.4 ASPH Summilux? It's great to have choices.

Took the family to DC again for vacation. Last time I was there, I had my Nikon D800e. This time, I carried the Leica M 240 and 3 lenses, the 35-Lux Asph, 50-Lux Asph and the 90mm Apo Summicron. Ended up only using the 35mm the whole time. Never even mounted the other 2 lenses. I wished I just brought my SF-58 instead of the 2 lenses. With that said, I am starting to warm up to the idea of a Leica Q for travel. The 35mm was a focal length that I used to love. I am now finding that I needed something wider. 28mm might just be the perfect travel lens.

I see this little cutie and I think forward a few years when she says "Daddy, can I have the car for a few hours?" Gulp!
