Fuji Lens hood and lens protection

i just got the x100f and the Fuji Lens hood. Those with the X100 series and a hood, what do you do to protect the hood?

Filter? What kind? .... Nothing? .... lens hat? (I have those on my 18f2,0 and 35f1,4 and like them) if you use a hood hat, what size?

Btw, the original lens cap just looks like something I would loose if I used it all the time.

This one's silver but mine is black. It affords maximum protection while still allowing use of the original lens cap.
