Fuji Let's Talk Bags

I've been in the market for a new camera/laptop bag and wanted to see what everyone else suggests/uses. I'm looking for an everyday carry bag which will be used for my 13" MBP, X-Pro, x10 and various cords and cables. I'd like something like a canvas messenger bag but one issue that I'm running into is that anything that tends to fit a 13" laptop tends to be made for full size DSLR's and up to 7 lenses. That would be way too much room for two smaller cameras and maybe an additional lens. Should I be looking at getting a laptop bag that has extra room for camera gear instead?

Here are a few I'm looking at:

Domke F-832: May be a bit on the bigger side of things but love the look.

Lowepro Event Messenger 250: Not very aesthetically pleasing but nice in the sense that it doesn't draw a lot of attention to itself.
Amazon.com: Lowepro LP36416 Event Messenger 250 Large Shoulder Camera Bag with 13-Inch Laptop Compartment: Camera & Photo

Ona Union Street Camera & Laptop Bag: Pricey but VERY sexy.

Thoughts?

This is not only a very personal choice, but also a context-sensitive one. I would always advocate a Billingham Hadley Pro, for instance, which blends in nicely here in the English Home Counties but which can appear a bit OTT elsewhere. Equally, if I turned up in London with one of the messenger-style bags above I would be sure to have to endure a crack about where I had parked my motorbike, and where was the envelope I was surely delivering...

A word, by the way, for the Safrotto range of bags. These are NOT Domke rip-offs as is sometimes claimed. When the Domke manufacturers went bust about 20 years ago Safrotto stepped - legitimately - into the breach. Today their bags use better quality canvas, all-metal fixings and come with good quality inserts included in the (cheaper) price. I have a 20+ year old Domke and a 10+ year old Safrotto and both are built to a standard and from materials that today, Domke cannot match

The Billingham's are very VERY nice. They may be a bit out of my price range. I'll also have to look into the Safrotto's as well. This is my first time hearing about them. Although I do enjoy the Domke's, I do not like the logo so prominently displayed on the bag.

I was looking at the bigger one that can actually hold a laptop! Good to see someone else bought one. I can't find any reviews of the damn things so it was a bit off putting. Can you post up any pictures and what you like/dislike about it?

Also...here is a bit of bag porn. I really want this but at nearly $500 I know it's never going to happen!

After using a Hadley Small for my Micro four thirds gear, I needed something larger.
Just got the Hadley Pro.
May be more expensive, but extinguishes bag gas.

Originally I was going to pick up on of these Courser canvas shoulder bags. Had a look at them in-store and they look and feel ok. Not as weather proof as some of the others so I was going to wash them with a machine washable water proofer, such as this for Nikwax - if it ruined the bag it wouldn't be that much of a expense.

But in the end my fiancée got me a Billingham Hadley Pro for my birthday. It's a very nice bag indeed. After a lot of umming and arring I went for the bag in sage fibrenyte- to be a little less obvious than the tan ones.

It might be a push to fit the MBP, put there is bound to be a video online of someone trying to do the same.

Re: the ONA bag photo above. I'm more interested in where the jacket is from. Been trying to find one like that ever since I saw the bag. :)

I got this bag and will fit a 13 MacBook Pro easily and was able to also place a Lenovo X1 Carbon in it also. Very nice bag. It will last a life time if treated right.

I shall wade into the fray here just to say how much harder it is to find a suitable bag as a female :) There are a few companies making bags aimed at women but for some reason they seem to think that we want things in bright purple or yellow or a combination of the two....... :disgust: Also, whilst being expensive they manage to look cheap and nasty at the same time. I'm a 7st 5'3" lady of a certain age and I can't be weighed down with a bag bigger than me. I know a lot of professional women photographers will probably use the man type bag but what about the more casual among us? I've been looking for a bag to take two different bodies at least with usually, 3 lenses. I'm talking Fuji XE1, EM5 sized proportions. I found this one, you can order your own customized fabric but I can't really know how useful it will be Leather Camera Bag Gold Leaves Mirrorless Compact by PorteenGear
