Light, winter, and disappointments

There was a "Light in winter " festival recently in the Melbourne CBD which is supposed to be the night closest to the true winter solstice. According to the schedule there was supposed to be a light show, a lantern procession, a choir performance, and so on and so forth. The light show ended up being a wire figure covered in Christmas lights, the lantern procession was a couple of people walking in a line carrying led flashlights, and while the choir did their best, the combination of the freezing temperature and city noise really did dampen their performance, so all in all, The festival didn't really match my expectations.

Sorry to hear that. But at least you provide us with the opportunity to see the results from our warm houses and cozy chairs.

I had my heart set on taking some light photos that night, I ended up taking some low light images instead, I think I was expecting too much.
