Looks like LR has received a major overhaul.

Bye Bye Lightroom, Hello Lightroom CC and Faster Lightroom Classic

While choosing the Classic keeps things with CC as they were, labeling it "Classic" makes me wonder how long its life will be.

I did the update to LR classic. It is much faster now. Finally.

A very welcome speed improvement für both X-Trans 24 MP and GFX files. Plus, WYSIWYG has been improved for shadow areas in engine version 4 and now closely simulate what you get when you export an sRGB JPEG file. Previously, JPEGs tended to end up with blocked shadows that weren't visible during editing in LR's editing color space.

Luckily, engine version 4 is downward-compatible with the 2012 engine, so all our (expensive) presets still work.
