This tree is situated on a little road between Sanchi and Udaigiri, in Madhya Pradesh, North India. Our taxi driver did not speak english so I was unable to have any information about it. I just ask him to stop and I took the photo. I think it is a banyan tree, a sacred tree for hinduists and buddhists in India, so nobody will cut it. But why the road does not bypass it, I don't know… Incredible India!

An old hawthorn tree at Claerddu bothy, on the Elan Valley Estate in the Cambrian mountains in Mid Wales. This was taken in July 2020. There is a large notch taken out of the tree where someone has tried to cut it down.

Lake Taupo. Shot in 2004 on a Sony Cybershot 2.8 Mpx camera. Seem to recall that the model was the DSC-P3. However, it's not a problem to remember that the camera cost NZ$1000 in 2002!

Does this qualify?
I was drawn to this specimen by its intensity of color. And that it was the only tree that had turned, as we can see.
