since its a pretty rare lens, itd be nice to hear what you believe to be its distinguishing characteristeics. it seemed to me it might be a deep color rendering, but i guess thats not one. are there any in your opinion?

I have used this lens only a few times. Once, I used it side by side with a Leica Summicron-C 40/2. I notice sharpness and excellent overall rendition with the Pentax-L. I know it is not a Sonnar, but it gives pastel colors like the original Sonnar lenses. Focusing is a snap.

interesting. 'look' is very subjective. i myself dont see 'pastel' when i look at these, but i guess that is the nature of both the posting process and the subjectivity of 'seeing' in general. its great to get the impressions of the one who is using it, thanks.

The "Raid" look.....when he photographs his bucolic beach surroundings have a similar look.....whether the SWC or the Pentax. It does seem to be his environment and his way of seeing. It tends to be pastel and atmospheric.

Thanks. It is true that I get carried away with nature around me. I am very sensitive to nature.
