Fuji Manual time exposures longer than 30s on Fuji X20?

Hello,

The specifications for the Fuji X20 state that the maximum shutter time is 30 seconds. Does anyone know if it is possible to get longer shutter times manually, for example with a shutter release cable, or if the 30 second maximum is hard-coded into the firmware?

Long time exposures are generally limited by the amout of noise that will be accepted. To ensure a certain qualitiy level of the photos, allowing longer exposure times would most likely lead to complaints on the high noise level at long exposure times. If I was Fuji I would not allow to circumvent the limit.
