Please pardon yet another shot of the Queen. She's my go to test subject for short telephoto lenses as you all know all too well. This in HHHR with the 75 1.8. It's not the GFX50R and 110 F2 or A7Riv and 135 Batis but in a shot like this it's not all that far off.

Unfortunately cloud cover was predominant and even the "clear" patches were still a thin veil, plus 1/3rd shutter speed handheld lol, so no tack sharp pics this year. Only tried a couple of shots. Have to wait until 2025 for the next one. Maybe I'll own a 300/4 by then, lol.

And a two second exposure to draw out some stars. These are both jpegs, by the way.

Now that I've been able to get some time with the OM-1 in actual field use, I'm finding that it's a great all-rounder. And I've not really even started using raw files as yet. As always, another camera more capable than I. I'm now definitely considering the 12-100 as a suitable investment, or else the more budget friendly 12-40/45's.

@saladin Jason, I think that you would like the 12-100 very much.

The 8-25 has very similar optical characteristics (sharpness over full range of FLs and apertures, focus transitions in front of and behind the plane of focus), with possibly less distortion than your 8-18. The 8-25 certainly has far less UWA distortion than my FTs 7-14. The UWA to normal FL range makes it usable as a walk around lens in some situations, as does the lack of typical UWA distortions. e.g. at 8mm
